  • How often do you release new scents?
I really love to have scents in my house that change with the seasons. I release new scents for fall, winter, Valentine's Day, spring and summer. I may on occasion have limited edition releases as well. The best way to keep up with the latest, is to sign up for my newsletter, or follow me on Facebook or Instagram.
  • How fragrant can I expect the candles and wax melts to be?
This can definitely vary from candle to candle depending on the actual fragrances used in the blends. Some are just stronger than others. I do try to list their scent strength on the website - you'll see it says Strong Throw, Medium or Light Throw, that means how far the scent will throw, so essentially how strong it is. We do all have different sniffers though, and different smells happening in our homes, so I do my best to estimate, and say how they throw in my house, in my opinion. An 8 oz. candle will typically fill a small to medium sized room, but are not so overpowering to fill an entire house. If that's what you are going for, I would suggest having a few, or wax melts in burners around the house.
  • How long do the candles last?
The 8 oz. candles typically burn for about 40 hours. For safety, and the longevity of the scent in the candle it's best to burn them 3-4 hours at a time.
  • Why is my candle tunneling down the middle or leaving some wax behind up the sides of the jar?
The short answer to candle tunneling is that it isn't being burnt for long enough, and the top layer of the wax isn't getting enough time and heat to melt properly. In my single wick amber jars, you should expect to have your candle burning for 3-4 hours at a time to get a full melt pool. If you've already burnt it for a shorter period of time several times and it's created a tunnel, you might be able to save it. 1) You can wrap a piece of aluminum foil around the edge, making very sure that you leave lots of room for the wick to burn properly. Keep a VERY close eye on it though to make sure it doesn't catch fire. After a while, it should create enough heat to catch up the areas that fell behind. 2) You can try to dig some wax out, but that's messy. You CAN add the bits that you've taken out of your candle to a wax melter, so that they haven't been wasted. 3) My preferred method - get a candle warmer (Michaels usually has them), and heat the jar on the hot plate. The wick will fall into the wax though, and you won't be able to light the wick and use it properly afterwards. You can continue to use it on the hotplate though until it has run out of scent, the wax will not evaporate. The second thing that might be causing wax buildup on the sides is if your wick is off center. Next time you burn it and get a good sized melt pool, get a pair of tweezers and pull it back to where it belongs in the center.
  • What do I need to know to burn my candle safely and make it last as long as possible?
EVERY TIME YOU BURN YOUR CANDLE Please trim your wick to about 1/4 inch tall. This keeps it from burning too hot and reduces smoking. THE FIRST TIME YOU LIGHT YOUR CANDLE Please trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (I leave them a bit long in the jars just in case they expand or contract during weather changes) Please let it burn until the wax pools all the way to the edge of the jar. This may take approximately 3 hours. This ensures that it won't tunnel down and your candle will have a longer happier life. PLEASE DON'T BURN YOUR CANDLE FOR MORE THAN 3-4 HOURS AT A TIME. Not only will it be very hot, the deeper you let the burn pool get, the more fragrance is burned out of it. Which means that once it hardens and you light it again, you may have less or no fragrance left in that section. MAKE SURE YOUR CANDLE IS SITTING ON SOMETHING HEAT RESISTANT. The candles do get hot, please be sure they are kept on a flat surface, and one that won't allow any burning or scorching underneath. STOP BURNING YOUR CANDLE WHEN THERE IS ABOUT 1/2 AN INCH OF WAX IN THE BOTTOM This is so that it doesn't burn anything or get the bottom of the jar too hot. Always put your candle on something that won't burn and is not flammable. If you are concerned about wastage, you can scoop it out and put it in a wax warmer. NEVER PLACE YOUR CANDLE NEAR A DRAFT OR A FAN This can cause the flame to be unsafe and your candle to burn unevenly which will reduce its burn time. NEVER LEAVE YOUR CANDLE UNATTENDED OR WITHIN REACH OF KIDS, PETS OR ANY FLAMMABLE ITEMS! The jar may get hot! Careful!
