Woodland Is Not a Christmas Tree

People smell Woodland and say Christmas tree pretty often. I get it, fir needle is in there, and fir needle is what most people associate with December. But Christmas tree is cold fir, and that is not what is actually happening in this one.
Cedar sits right alongside the fir, drier and warmer than a cold tree on its own. Then there is moss, summer-green and damp, and grass, bright and alive on top of it. Together, it reads closer to standing on a trail at seven in the morning before the heat sets in, ground still a little damp, everything green instead of frosted.
Woodland was built for the hike, not the holiday.
