How the Fall Lineup Almost Came Up One Scent Short

How the Fall Lineup Almost Came Up One Scent Short

I decide on fall scents somewhere between six and twelve months out, which means I am usually test burning the wrong season entirely. Spring candles in the fall. Winter in the middle of summer.

I had two fragrance oils in the fall lineup, chosen weeks apart. Burning them back to back later to test them, they read as the same scent, or very close, eep! I pulled the second one out entirely. It already lives in a different project, where it won't have to compete with something too close to it.

That left me short one scent (self imposed, lol) with the collection already mostly locked. I wanted something with pumpkin in it, but not the generic version that shows up in most of what gets released every fall.

I won't tell you what it's called yet. Chai tea runs underneath the pumpkin, cardamom and black tea leaning into it instead of nutmeg carrying the whole thing on its own. Not the generic version. I would not have found it if the other two hadn't forced my hand. You'll get the name when the collection launches.
